Time Well Spent

I went and watched Django Unchained today - awesome Tarantino movie, not for the squeemish!

It is a long movie, and I took my knitting with me as usual, and did the bulk of the knitting on two more preemie hats. Have accumulated quite a hoard of them now - will soon be time to drop them off at the Flinders Medical Centre. They are awesome there. Both of my children spent a week there as babies with bronchiolitis.

Bad Bit

My bad bit today was when my daughter didn't take heed to my repeated warnings on the difficulty of wrapping exercise books. I think she'll listen to me next time, going by the less than satisfactory results.

Good Thing

'straya Day

Today was one of those days that started out kinda ordinary and ended up being pretty awesome.

We had the Tour Down Under here in Willunga, we popped down there and had a look, marvelling at how donning something so simple as a lumo vest can immediately transform someone into a short tempered ball of anger. Very amusing.

Then the husband and my bro popped out to Bunnings and bought us our first decent barbie. It's awesome! The rest of the day was spent with the radio cranked up with Triple J's Hottest 100, and me just chilling in the back yard on the swing chair, knitting on a scarf for my Bestie, and my hubs and bro putting the barbie together. A quick trip to Coles then an awesome dinner outside, enjoying something that I didn't have to cook - always tastes better if you don't make it.

Happy Australia Day, hope yours was as chillin' as mine was.

Yarn Bombing

It's the Tour Down Under in Willunga tomorrow and I tagged my road sign....hope it makes some people smile. It made me smile! (Apologies for the terrible quality of the photos...)

God's Waiting Room

I got invited out for lunch by my Mum and her friend Barbara (Brah Brah) to Fresh Choice down near Marion. It's a buffet/feeding trough deal. The place is packed with oldies. I'm the youngest one here by at least 25 years. It's like a whole world has opened up to me that I never knew existed!

Love is....

Love is working all day, then coming home and making pizzas, cupcakes and choc-peanut butter cookies for your daughter's birthday party/sleepover.

Love is eating your piece of pizza standing up in the kitchen while waiting for the next batch of those yummy carrot and walnut cupcakes to be done baking. I have to make a metric tonne of them as the family are coming round tomorrow. I'd liken the sight of my beloved family feasting to that of a plague of locusts ;-). Ah, bless.

A Birthday Miracle

Am celebrating my birthday today, all on my tod. Not really an issue as I like spending time on my own. I went to the movies, one of my favourite things, and watched 'The Sapphires' while knitting on a plain sock (knitting, another one of my favourite things) and had a blast!

Went to the local shopping centre to pick up another birthday present for the daughter, who's birthday it is tomorrow and scored myself the last piece of Banana Bread at Gloria's. What a win!

Now it's time to toddle off home where the birthday ironing awaits my attention. Oh well, you can't win them all!
